This exploratory mixed-methods study aims to develop a model to understand the level, concept, development, and impact of hope in Chinese renal patients on PD. The four research questions that will guide this study are: 1. What is the level of hope perceived by Chinese renal patients on PD? 2. Does the level of hope affect HRQoL, anxiety, and depression in these patients? 3. What does hope mean to these patients? 4. What can be helpful to foster hope from patients perspectives?  

Objectives of Study：

This exploratory mixed-methods study aims to develop a model to understand the level, concept, development, and impact of hope in Chinese renal patients on PD. The four research questions that will guide this study are: 1. What is the level of hope perceived by Chinese renal patients on PD? 2. Inclusion criteria

排除标准：

1) cannot communicate in Cantonese;
2) refuse to provide written consent;
3) have active mental health disorders (e.g., schizophrenia) will be excluded from this study.

The ressearch assistant will approach the potential participants and explain to them the purposes and procedures of this study. After giving an informed consent, a questionnaire will be administered face-to-face to collect quantitative data, including the level of hope and the associated factors from each participant.
