研究目的：

通过此项研究评估结合珠蛋白（Hp）类型和维生素E对中国糖尿病患者心血管疾病标志物的影响，确认2-2型结合珠蛋白是否造成这些指标的异常改变，而维生素E是否可以逆转这种改变。最终确定Hp基因型检测和补充维生素E是否可以作为防治糖尿病患者心血管疾病的保护措施。  

Objectives of Study：

To assess the effect of binding globin (Hp) type and vitamin E on cardiovascular disease markers in Chinese patients with diabetes, and to determine whether 2-2 binding globin type causes abnormal changes in these indicators and whether vitamin E can reverse such changes.To determine whether Hp genotype testing and vitamin E supplementation can be used as protective measures against cardiovascular disease in diabetic patients.

纳入标准：

Inclusion criteria

排除标准：

1 最近三个月内急性心梗或冠心病发作（暂时排除，有可能延期入组）；
2 最近5年患有恶性肿瘤（排除非黑色素瘤皮肤癌患者）；
3 终末期肾病；
4 过去 1 年中服用过抗氧化剂（维生素 E,维生素 A,维生素 C,谷胱甘肽，硫辛酸，辅酶 Q，硒，β-胡萝卜素，多维片）或过去 3 个月中服用过中草药或中成药；
5 对维生素 E 过敏者。

Exclusion criteria：

1. MI or CVA in the last 3 months (temporary exclusion, recruitment may be postponed);
2. Any malignancy during the last 5 years (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer);
3. End stage renal disease;
4. Treatment with any antioxidant supplements (Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, glutathione, lipoic acid, Coenzyme Q, Selenium, beta carotene, multivitamin) in the last year or treatment with herbal supplements/ herbal Chinese medicines in the last 3 months, or unwilling to avoid these supplements;
5. Known allergy to vitamin E.
