研究目的：

本研究目的在探討運用跨理論介入措施對菸害知識、戒菸自我效能、成癮、抽煙量與TTM階段之短期與長期成效。  

Objectives of Study：

This study tested an intervention based on the Transtheoretical Model (TTM) for smoking cessation (SC); it also examined the TTM’s effect on participants’ knowledge of smoking health risks, SC self-efficacy, nicotine dependence, daily cigarette consumption, and progression through the TTM’s proposed stages of change.

药物成份或治疗方案详述：

本研究採方便取樣之縱貫式研究設計。收案人數200人(實驗組100人；對照組100人)，經由台灣西南部地區醫院醫師/護理師詢問病患有意願後轉介給研究者並解釋研究目的後再取得書面/口頭同意書。每位病患被衛教及並以結構式問卷訪問3次，分別是衛教前、衛教後、及衛教後3個月。 

Description for medicine or protocol of treatment in detail：

A two-group quasi-experimental and longitudinal design was used to test a TTM-based SC intervention.Two hundred smokers from a regional hospital in mid-west Taiwan were equally divided into an experimental and comparison group (n=100 for each). Tests were administered at pre-intervention (pretest), post-intervention (3 months), and follow-up (6 months) using a structured questionnaire.
