研究目的：

The main objective of the current study is to make a comparison between total thyroidectomy with prophylactic central compartment neck dissection and that without it. It specifically relates to papillary thyroid cancer with clinically negative cervical LN metastasis. The study mainly concentrates on the complications rate and the risk of recurrence of the disease.

It specifically relates to papillary thyroid cancer with clinically negative cervical LN metastasis. 纳入标准：

Inclusion criteria

排除标准：

1.Papillary thyroid tumor but unfit for operation, associated with metastasis, associated with clinically positive cervical LNs (central or lateral).
2.Recurrent papillary thyroid tumor, with or without previous thyroid operation.
3.Locally advanced papillary thyroid cancer (T3, T4).
4.Micro papillary thyroid cancer.

Exclusion criteria：

1.Papillary thyroid tumor but unfit for operation, associated with metastasis, associated with clinically positive cervical LNs (central or lateral).
2.Recurrent papillary thyroid tumor, with or without previous thyroid operation.
3.Locally advanced papillary thyroid cancer (T3, T4).
4.Micro papillary thyroid cancer.
