研究目的：

本研究在探討遠紅外線熱敷對降低腦中風病患偏癱上肢肩關節處之不舒服感及提高其患側上肢遠端溫度之效果。  

Objectives of Study：

In this research, the efficacy of far-infrared ray (IR-C) hot compress in reducing the uncomfortable feeling of stroke patients’upper limbs and increasing the temperature of the distal limb was investigated.

纳入标准：

認知、感覺：正常可配合指示檢測；經醫師診斷為肩關節失能症。

Inclusion criteria

Cognitive, sensory: normal with the instructions detection; shoulder disability disease diagnosed by doctors.

排除标准：

急性病症、腫瘤、對溫度感覺不良者、不明原因疼痛、其他肌肉骨骼系統無法配合檢測者。

Exclusion criteria：

Subjects with acute illnesses, tumor, poor temperature sensation, unexplained pain and symptoms
of musculoskeletal system inadequate to join the test were excluded.

患側與非患側均放置遠紅外線（IR-C）敷墊，但僅患側開啟電源。

Blinding：

IR-C HC was placed respectively on the paretic and the non-paretic shoulder of the patient, while only that on the paretic side was powered on to avoid the placebo effect.
