Objectives of Study:

(1) Evaluating the relationship between selenium levels and the occurrence of MetS. By analyzing the relationship between selenium levels in blood and the occurrence of MetS in adolescents, we aim to determine the role of selenium as a potential protective factor or risk factor, and understand the potential mechanism of selenium levels in the occurrence of MetS. (2) Clarify the correlation between metabolic risk factors and selenium levels. Explore the association between metabolic risk factors such as TC, TG, and blood glucose and the selenium levels in the blood, reveal the interaction between selenium and metabolic risk factors, and provide a theoretical basis for future intervention measures. (3) Independent Effect of Selenium Levels on the Risk of MetS: Using Cox regression analysis, we evaluated the independent effect of selenium levels on the risk of MetS in adolescents. By verifying whether selenium is an important predictor of MetS occurrence, we further understand the role of selenium in health.(4) The difference in selenium levels and the timing of MetS occurrence was explored using Kaplan-Meier survival curves to investigate the timing differences of MetS occurrence among different selenium level groups, further confirming the potential temporal effect of selenium levels on the occurrence of MetS. (5) Improve the accuracy of MetS risk prediction Combined with machine learning methods, such as decision tree, random forest and support vector machine, an efficient Mets risk prediction model is established, so as to improve the accuracy of early prediction of MetS and provide support for public health policy making. (6) Explore the complex interaction between selenium and metabolic risk factors Objective to study the complex interaction between selenium levels and metabolic risk factors, in-depth analysis of their joint effects on Mets, and reveal the complex biological mechanism and the multifactorial characteristics of MetS. (7) Provide scientific basis for adolescent health intervention Based on the research results, provide empirical data on the relationship between selenium levels and MetS, and support health intervention measures for adolescent groups, especially nutrition intervention, to reduce the risk of MetS.
