Objectives of Study：

To investigate the role of ultrasound in early diagnosis and active monitoring of medullary thyroid carcinoma

药物成份或治疗方案详述：

 

Description for medicine or protocol of treatment in detail：

 

纳入标准：

1.接受过甲状腺细针穿刺或手术的患者；
2.经病理学证实的MTC患者；
3.接受过超声检查以及病史采集的患者；
4.已行甲状腺功能（包括降钙素）和癌胚抗原测定的患者；

Inclusion criteria

1.Patients who have undergone thyroid fine needle puncture or surgery;
2.Pathologically proven MTC patients;
3.Patients who have undergone ultrasound and history collection;
4.Patients who have had thyroid function (including calcitonin) and carcinoembryonic antigen assayed;

排除标准：

1.有颈部放化疗史的患者；
2.医疗资料不完整的患者；
3.影像学肿瘤病灶与病理结果不一致；

Exclusion criteria：

1.Patients with a history of cervical chemoradiotherapy;
2.Patients with incomplete medical information;
3.The imaging results of the tumor lesions were inconsistent with the pathological findings;

金标准或参考标准（即可准确诊断某疾病的单项方法或多项联合方法，在本研究中用于诊断是否有该病的临床参考标准）：

确诊甲状腺髓样癌（MTC）的金标准是细针穿刺活检（Fine Needle Aspiration, FNA）结合病理学检查。在病理学检查中，细胞学特征可以进一步通过免疫组织化学染色来确定，常用的标志物包括降钙素（calcitonin）和癌胚抗原（CEA）。

Gold Standard or Reference Standard (The clinical reference standards required to establish the presence or absence of the target condition in the tested population in present study):

The gold standard for diagnosis of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) is Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) combined with pathological examination. In pathological examination, cytological features can be further determined by immunohistochemical staining.

The neck ultrasound is performed with a high-frequency linear probe and the patient lies on his back with the neck slightly tilted back to optimize the field of view. The examination includes transverse and longitudinal scans that measure the size of the thyroid nodules, respectively, while assessing blood flow. Lymph nodes found are also observed and measured for signs of metastasis.
