Objectives of Study：

To investigate in a cluster randomized trial whether a combined health education intervention can reduce the incidence rate of hand, foot, and mouth disease and delay the onset of the disease in infants and young children.

纳入标准：

（1）广州市常住居民;（2）家中至少有一个 3 岁及以下的儿童。

Inclusion criteria

(1) permanent residency in Guangzhou; (2) having at least one child aged 3 years or younger in the household.

排除标准：

（1）问卷回答不完整;（2）联系方式不正确，无法跟进随访; (3)随访前婴幼儿发病。

Exclusion criteria：

(1) Incomplete answers to the questionnaire; (2) Incorrect contact details and no follow-up was possible; (3) Onset of disease in infants and young children before follow-up.

基于对 2013 年至 2022 年手足口病发病热点的分析，将广州分为热点区、随机区和冷区三个区域。从每个区域随机选择两个区，从每个区随机选择两个 CHC。然后使用计算机生成的随机数将这些选定的 CHC 随机分配到干预组或对照组。

Randomization Procedure (please state who generates the random number sequence and by what method)：

Based on an analysis of HFMD incidence hotspots from 2013 to 2022, Guangzhou was stratified into three zones: hotspot, random, and cold zones. Two districts were randomly selected from each zone, and from each district, two CHCs were randomly chosen. These selected CHCs were then randomly assigned to either the intervention or control group using computer-generated random numbers.
