研究目的：

在这项研究中，我们的目的是评估治疗轻度症状儿童先天性肺叶过度充气的保守方法。 由于对症状轻微的儿童采取保守治疗方法在肺科医生中并不常见。  

Objectives of Study：

In this study, our aim is to evaluate the conservative approach for treating mildly symptomatic children with congenital lobar overinflation. As the conservative approach for children with mild symptoms is not very common among pulmonologists.

在一项病例系列研究中，我们回顾性地回顾了 2005 年 6 月至 2018 年 8 月期间在利雅得费萨尔国王专科医院和研究中心 (KFSHRC) 接受放射学诊断并接受保守治疗的 14 名患者的图表。 参与者初次到我们医院就诊时的年龄介于两天到四年之间。 对患者记录进行评估，包括其年龄、性别、临床表现、诊断和随访预约时的放射学检查结果、相关疾病和结果。 他们的平均随访时间为 53 个月（范围：4 个月至 10 年）。 

Description for medicine or protocol of treatment in detail：

A case series study, we retrospectively reviewed the charts of 14 patients who had been diagnosed radiologically with CLO between June 2005 and August 2018 and treated conservatively at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Riyadh. Participants' age upon their initial presentation to our hospital ranged between two days to four years. Patients' records were evaluated regarding their age, gender, clinical presentations, radiological findings at the time of their diagnosis and follow-up appointments, associated diseases, and outcomes. Their mean follow-up duration was 53 months (range: 4 months to 10 years). 

纳入标准：

所有在 2005 年 6 月至 2018 年 8 月期间被放射学诊断为先天性肺叶过度充气并在利雅得费萨尔国王专科医院和研究中心 (KFSHRC) 接受保守治疗的儿科患者。

Inclusion criteria

All pediatric patients who had been diagnosed radiologically with congenital lobar overinflation between June 2005 and August 2018 and treated conservatively at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Riyadh;

排除标准：

1. 明显呼吸窘迫、严重低氧血症、高碳酸血症；
2. 胸部不对称；
3. 明显的纵隔移位，受累肺叶突出横跨纵隔；
4. 未能茁壮成长。

Exclusion criteria：

1. Significant respiratory distress, severe hypoxemia, and hypercarbia;
2. Chest asymmetry;
3. Significant mediastinal shift with herniation of the affected lobe across the mediastinum;
4. Failure to thrive.

Data collection and Management (A standard data collection and management system include a CRF and an electronic data capture：

A case series study, we retrospectively reviewed the charts of 14 patients who had been diagnosed radiologically with congenital lobar overinflation in period between June 2005 and August 2018 and had been treated conservatively at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Riyadh. The patient is clinically stable with mild symptom (respiratory distress is adequately tolerated) and thriving well. Participants’ age upon their initial presentation to our hospital ranged between two days to four years. Patients’ records were evaluated regarding their age, gender, clinical presentations, radiological findings at the time of their diagnosis and follow-up appointments, associated diseases, and outcomes. Their mean follow-up duration was 53 months (range: 4 months to 10 years). Descriptive statistics were used to summarize our data. The results are expressed, as appropriate, as percentages, means, and ranges.
