主在釐清給予益生質對第二型糖尿病患腸道功能之角色  

Objectives of Study：

Our aim is to clarify the currently described effects of prebiotics in the prevention and management of type 2 (T2D) diabetes mellitus.

药物成份或治疗方案详述：

符合收案條件之病患將進行為期1~2個月果寡糖(15~20 g/d)，飲食與補充品部份將限制維持營養師建議之飲食與生活習慣，且將給予一張列表包含益生菌、其他除本次介入益生質之外之產品、含豐富果寡糖之食物如洋蔥與韭菜等，要求病患於實驗期間不能攝取上述食品。 

Description for medicine or protocol of treatment in detail：

Patients consumed fructooligosaccharides (15~20 g/d) for 1~2 month each. Supplements and food intake were instructed to maintain their habitual eating, drinking, and lifestyle behavior. They were asked to not eat probiotic and other prebiotic dairy products that contain microorganisms able to survive passage through the upper gastrointestinal tract or to consume products containing large amounts of fructooligosaccharides, such as onions and leeks. 

纳入标准：

收案條件糖尿病根據WHO診斷標準、年齡大於18歲

Inclusion criteria

We recruited patients, who were diagnosed with diabetes on the basis of WHO diagnostic criteria, aged >18 years.

排除标准：

過去腸胃道疾病病史、收案前過去3個月使用過抗生素或輕瀉劑(laxatives)

Exclusion criteria：

Patients with history of gastrointestinal disease and been treated with antibiotics or laxatives in the 3 months before the recruitment.
